Midweek Motes

She’s not funny, ever: Anti-Trump un-funny comedian Kathy Griffin has revealed she stopped seeing a  prosthetic dentist because he was “lecturing” her about the bestselling book Clinton Cash by Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer. Clinton Cash delves into the financial dealings of the Clinton family after they left the White House and during the time Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State. The book focuses on the Clinton Foundation, which has been accused of being a pay-for-play organization, as well as the couple’s lavishly paid speaking engagements. The book was so popular it was adapted into a documentary and a graphic novel. The best thing going for that book, the Clinton’s didn’t sue. Truth is the best defense.

Her opinion matters, just ask her: Sunny Hostin actually Asunción Cummings Hostin , listed as an American lawyer, journalist, and television host,  on “The View” tore into Americans who’ve indicated they won’t get the COVID-19 vaccine by saying we should “shun” them — and the co-host specifically called out “white evangelicals” and “Republicans.”  Hostin in her soft-spoken rant went on to target and blame specific groups. Then she added, that unvaccinated Americans should be refused entry into certain places. But you know, unity and togetherness.

Don’t ask for problems: The police officer who posted a hilarious video mocking LeBron James was suspended from his job. Nate Silvester, an officer in Bellevue, Idaho, was suspended for a week over his viral TikTok video responding to the basketball player’s threat against the cop who was involved in the fatal shooting of an armed teenager who was in the process of trying to stab another girl. The suspension is his own fault, he recorded the video in uniform, with his name and badge of authority clearly visible. I’m sure his command was sympathetic, but rules have to be followed. Mostly. Sometimes.

Maybe it’s just me: Live event organizers are demanding the State of Hawaii develop a clear plan to bring back concerts and other large gatherings. The people who put on big shows in Hawaii say we’re at risk of losing access to host big names like Bruno Mars, Janet Jackson and Cardi B for a long time if the state doesn’t take action now. First, I wouldn’t spend a dime to see any of those named. Second, since when do private entities “demand” anything from the state. You can ask, you can request, or you can even beg, but you don’t demand.

Why run on real issues if you don’t have to: Republican Wyoming Rep.  Liz Cheney said Thursday that she will defend her vote to impeach former President Donald Trump every day of the week during her primary race for reelection. The Wyoming Republican Party censured her in February over her vote to impeach former President Donald Trump and ongoing criticism of him. What this means is she will be able to ignore everything else someone asks. Any bets on how many ways she’ll come up with to always turn the conversation to this?
