May Day Monday Motes

Nothing to see here: Michigan Democrat Kathy Funk, who served as the Flint Township Clerk, was sentenced to 6 months of house arrest for tampering with ballots in the 2020 election. Funk pleaded “No Contest” of misconduct in office, which is treated the same as a guilty plea for sentencing purposes. But the was NO FRAUD in any elections.

Out of touch: “In all my years of being in school as a student & being a teacher I have never once witnessed anyone pledging allegiance to a flag. Maybe some schools in the South? Certainly not mainstream America. Sounds like an old rerun of ‘Gunsmoke,'” Joyce Carol Oates tweeted Saturday. Ms. Oates, I am one generation younger than you, and in elementary school, junior high school, and high school, in Seattle WA, we said the pledge EVERY DAY.  I don’t consider Seattle “south” of anywhere except British Columbia.

Excessive response: Police say a man who interrupted a dinner date to kill a parking lot scammer was arrested on murder charges Tuesday. Once they parked, a man approached them to pay a $20 parking fee each car. The man paid, and the couple went on to the restaurant. When they got to the Rodeo Goat, a worker told them the seeming parking attendant was actually a “scammer.” So, the man ran back to his car, retrieved a gun, then shot and killed the “parking attendant”. A little overkill don’t you think?

Not safe even after death: An Arkansas woman pleaded not guilty to charges she sold stolen body parts from medical school corpses for $11,000 to a Pennsylvania man she met on social media. Candace Chapman Scott, 36, a former mortuary worker, is accused of selling 20 boxes of body parts to a man she met on an interwebz site about “oddities,” according to the April 5 indictment unsealed Friday in federal court in Little Rock. Incidentally, the buyer, who has spikes in his hrad and satanic tattoos, was not indicted.

Reminder: The enemy of your enemy, is Not your friend and will probably shoot you in the back.
