Wednesday Motes, Lunch Break

One more step to the loss of freedom: The feds are set to launch new safety rules for transporting some livestock. However, some ranchers are now concerned about how much it might impact them. Ranchers and cattle farmers are bracing for a big change. Under a new rule, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is soon expected to require high-frequency or low-frequency electronic tags on most cattle and bison being transported on any American highway. “They” will know how many cattle you have, where they are, and when you move them. Can some kind of “tax”, (for the good of public safety), be far behind?

World involvement has started: France has sent its first troops officially to Ukraine. The French soldiers are drawn from France’s 3rd Infantry Regiment, which is one of the main elements of France’s Foreign Legion (Légion étrangère). The initial group of French troops numbers around 100. This is just the first contingent of around 1,500 French Foreign Legion soldiers scheduled to arrive in Ukraine. Hey France, does Dien Ben Phu ring any bells? How about Algeria? Ding Ding Ding

Remember; The people who shut down your businesses and killed your careers are now telling you to re-elect them so they can keep their jobs. Never forget what they’ve done to you and your families. If they are re-elected, they WILL do it again.

It’s not a “protest”: Paint splattered on floors. Spray-painted messages and screeds covering walls. Furniture moved and overturned. Security cameras disabled. Fire extinguishers missing and entrances blocked by stacks of chairs.  A white sign painted with red lettering that proclaimed, “WELCOME TO THE REFAAT ALAREER MEMORIAL LIBRARY,” was draped over a painted mural that generally greets library visitors. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators renamed the library after the Palestinian poet who died in an Israeli airstrike in December. The library’s ground floor was splattered with orange, red and yellow paint, with empty water bottles strewn about. File cabinets and other furniture blocked elevator doors. Glass-covered displays were smashed. There are also reports from campus security and staff of potential thefts of rare archival material, including its full Dark Horse Comics collection. You ae NOT a protester. You ARE a vandal, a burglar, and YOU ARE A THIEF. You should be treated as such.

Not much sympathy here: At the height of his Magnum P.I. prominence in 1985, Tom Selleck was reportedly earning $500,000 per episode, which in today’s economy is equivalent to an estimated #$1.2 million dollars. In recent years, Selleck is best known for the role of Frank Reagan in CBS’ police drama Blue Bloods — for which he reportedly earns $200,000 per episode, averaging a total salary of $5 million per season. Sellek,79, has been starring “Blue Bloods” since 2010, but later this year, the show is set to end. Without the income he earns from it, Selleck may be forced to give up his California ranch.? ? Hey Tommy, tell me again about that “reverse mortgage” you do commercials about. Maybe take your own advice.

Tuesday Motes, Recess Playtime

Protected class: A second “black book” of 200+ contact names and numbers belonging to the well-connected late sex offender Jeffrey Epstien is going up for auction in two weeks time. On May 15, the black book will be offered for private sale by sealed bids by Alexander Historical Auctions. A forensic document examiner’s report on its authenticity will be provided alongside it. And not one -single-solitary indictment.

Hoisted on his own petard: The word “petard” comes from the French word  that means to break wind. Kevin Parker, a Democrat state senator representing Brooklyn, is calling the Adult Survivors Act unconstitutional, and yet he voted for it. When Democrat politicians in New York passed the Adult Survives Act to punish Donald Trump and provide the ability for E. Jean Carroll to go after Trump 30 years later, their Trump Derangement Syndrome blinded them to how it might impact them. So the demorats are hoisted (exposed) on their own farts. (Te He snicker snicker).

Outlived their worth: The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) has many demands in their latest salvo in negotiating a new contract with the public schools system. he $50 billion they are asking for includes a 9% wage hike, fully paid abortions for its members, new migrant services and facilities, and a myriad of LGBT-related requirements. I have often said, union’s have outlived their usefulness. Theu no longer do their “members” any good.

Shades of Baader-Meinhof: College campus protests are being infiltrated by outside forces and supported by professional agitators. One such alleged professional agitator is James Carlson, who was arrested inside Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall and has no affiliation with the University.  Carlson “fights the man,” and rages against capitalism, which he can afford to do since it has benefitted him and his family, he goes home each night to his lavish $3.4 million Brooklyn brownstone property. Useful idiots like this don’t realize, the first thing “they” will do after “the revolution” will be to line people like him up and put a bullet in their head. Why take the chance they’d start another revolution.

Feel old? American Graffiti was filmed in….1973. Half a century ago. Ouch.

Monday Motes, Right After School

Follow the money: Officers from the New York Police Department went to 2 different universities on Friday morning to clear out anti-Israel agitators and break up demonstrations being held on campus. Across the country at 46 different locations resulting in the arrest of over 2,300 “students”. The NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations also spoke to reporters, saying there is “somebody” or “some organization” behind the massive movement where students and other protesters are taking over schools and academic buildings, chanting antisemitic slogans, resisting law enforcement and administrators’ orders to disperse, and getting away with no consequences. You mean all those professionally printed signs, t-shirts, flags, frozen water bottles, and gas masks weren’t spontaneous?  Well then. Who’s paying for all this? Asking for a friend.

Words, just words: George Alan Kelly, 75, had his trial for the second-degree murder ended in a hung jury in his favor. Various headlines listed the “victim” as “a Mexican man”, a “Mexican citizen”, a “Mexican national” and a “migrant”. How come nobody refers to him as an illegal immigrant. The optimum word is “illegal”. I won’t argue the case, I don’t have all the facts, but they (the msm) have to duty to name subjects what they really are, “ILLEGAL ALIENS”. Words have meanings, use the correct ones.

A suggestion to Kristie Noem; when you get to the bottom of the hole, stop digging.

W T H: The U.S. Department of Justice has told Iowa’s top officials it plans to sue the state over a new law making it a crime for a person to be in Iowa if they’ve previously been denied admission to the U.S. the DOJ informed Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and state Attorney General Brenna Bird that it intends to sue unless the state agrees by May 7 not enforce the law, according to a letter sent Thursday. SO the DOJ says the state can’t enforce laws that the doj won’t enforce. Why?

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: The Internal Revenue Service is demanding a further $20 billion from Congress in order to hire another 14,000 more employees as part of an effort to better “serve taxpayers.”  According  to IRS Commissioner, Daniel Werfel, the agency needs the money in order to fund technology upgrades and improve its “customer service”. Did you know there are 4 times as many irs “agents” as there are border patrol “agents”? That’s because the Illegal aliens don’t have any money the .gov can take.

It’s just me: They’re saying the new Baltimore Bridge Span Will Cost $1.9 Billion And Won’t Be Ready Until 2028. But “we” can build a new dock in Gaza right now. Did I miss something here?

Sunday Rant – D T I

May 24

“In the City of Constance (present-day southern Germany) on 6 July 1415, John Hus was burned at the stake by the Catholic Church for the ‘heresy’ of criticizing corrupt Church practices that were not supported by Scripture (much as Martin Luther did a century later).

Curiously, Hus’ personal safety had been repeatedly guaranteed by Church hierarchy.

Who witnessed the event reported that Hus died singing!”

Forget about “Protection of Law!”

This past weekend in the City of Buffalo, NY two workers, who had been hired by a local realtor to clean the interior of an unoccupied house, were attacked and murdered by a squatter whom apparently no one knew was there.

This murderer had been arrested multiple times, and always failed to subsequently show-up in court. There were thus multiple warrants out for his arrest, but why bother arresting him (again)? He’ll only be “in custody” for an hour of two, and then released once more!

Had he been in jail (where he should have been, and where he could have harmed no one) these two innocent cleaners, who were only trying to work for a living, would be alive and well.

Democrats call this travesty “bail reform.” Democrats, instead of protecting good and decent people, instead protect violent criminals, and then solicit their votes.

These two innocent workers should have been able to assume their government was doing its best to protect them.

Quite the opposite!

“Public safety” currently enjoys the lowest rung among priorities of leftist politicians, who work tirelessly to keep dangerous criminals out on the street and not in jail, as we see.
The weapon used to commit these murders was a KelTec folding carbine (9mm), what we call a PCC (Pistol-Cartridge Carbine, illegal in NY). When it was seized by police, it had a fifteen-round magazine locked in the magazine well (also illegal in NY).

I am quite certain that violent criminals like this one are smart enough to have figured-out the advantages of carrying a PCC in a backpack. There are never any consequences, so why not?

This murderer was obviously unconcerned about the illegality of his weapon and magazine. Again, he has been arrested repeatedly, formally charged, and then immediately cut-loose, never to experienced any

unpleasant follow-up. He was intimately familiar with “The System!”

Gun laws are only enforced upon good and decent, tax-paying citizens (who have something to lose), and who are scared to death of these protected and coddled criminals (who have nothing to lose), and who are by and large unhindered as they prey upon the innocent, violently.

This is the leftist NIMBY (“Not In My Back Yard”) standard, in action!

This is the “Rules for Thee, but Not for Me” mindset, cynically practiced by all liberals (along with “Guns for me, but not for Thee,” as gun laws don’t apply to politicians)

This is a palpable curse upon this nation, where we now have a “Caste System,” based on an arrogant, elitist school of thought.

Gone are the days when good citizenship was the “gold standard” for personal behavior!

Now, immoral, unethical behavior is piously excused, providing the actor: 1) Belongs to the “correct group,” favored by leftists/elitists, and 2) Engages in acts of destruction and terror focused upon “deplorables” (the law-abiding, Jews, Christians, tax-payers, legal American citizens)

Thus, looting, squatting, burning, vandalizing, and general terrorizing of local communities is not only permitted, but encouraged, under the excuse that destructive riots are falsely re-labeled “mostly peaceful protests”

Police are given orders to stand-down and not enforce the law. BLM, ANTIFA (and now Hamas) “activists” are given free reign to wreak havoc, so long as they vote for Democrats.

However, when any species of protest occurs at a liberal “Ivory Tower,” we see a completely different set of “standards” being applied. Now, police (and tax-payer-funded bodyguards, armed with “weapons of war”) are suddenly needed to “restore order” and are expected to do it quickly, so that no elitist liberal is ever inconvenienced.

We are only as good as our upbringing and education. When parents fail to parent, our media despises the truth, and “educators” teach only evil, we are in for a rough ride!

In the interim, life-threatening emergencies are, by definition, unplanned!

As our “Criminal/Justice System” collapses under our feet, personal readiness will determine life or death!

 /John

Saturday Story

The Eyes of Madness

The doctors said he was dangerous to himself and others. The family was afraid of him so they filed commitment papers. They were afraid.

Just a year ago he tried to hurt his mother with a kitchen knife. Four months ago he hurt his brother with a piece of pipe. Three weeks ago he hurt his father with his fist and a bat.

So now the doctors said he was dangerous. After thirty-five years, in and out of the revolving door of the state mental institutions, they said he should stay in the hospital this time.

So the family called and requested the police stand by and wait until the ambulance arrived to transport him to the state hospital.

Being the junior officer, I had the blue and white vehicle with a cage between driver and “passenger.

We met the family a few blocks away and followed them to the house. They had all the papers, commitment order, state custody and all the rest. The sector sergeant checked them out; counter signed, and said we’d wait until the ambulance arrived.

I was young then, with only a few years on the street. I’d just follow the sergeants lead, watch and learn.

He was cooking when we got there.

First Mom and Dad tried to explain how this was all for his own good. He would be happier “there”.

As they were talking I got my first look at his eyes, they were the same eyes I’d seen in trapped animals. They darted from side to side looking for a way out. Looking for a place to run. Every third of fourth glance he would look at the dishes in the sink, there were several knives in there.

I moved slowly and managed to put myself in front of the sink and the trapped look becomes desperate and pained. There was a hint of betrayal in those eyes whenever he looked at his family.

The ambulance did not come. It turned out all of them were on calls and it could be two or three hours before one could be dispatched.  So the sergeant decides I should take him to the Hospital. The family would meet me there and do all the paperwork. I was just the cab driver.

As I put handcuffs on him, the looks turned from fear and betrayal to anger and planned vengeance. I truly hoped they would keep him in the hospital.

After the cuffs, we put him in the back of the patrol car, in the back seat with the cage around him, like a trapped animal.

It wasn’t a long drive, 20 or 30 minutes. Every time I looked into the rearview mirror, he was looking at me. The eyes never stopped.

They say the eyes are the window to a man’s soul and mind. For that drive I looked into eyes I would remember for many nightmares after.

For many nights when the darkness began to seep into my soul, I’d remember looking into those eyes of madness.

Friday Motes, End Of The Line

Dire prediction: You think you’re mad about the Ukraine money now? Wait until they lose the war (they will) and make a peace deal giving Putin everything he wants (they will) and then the Demorats in Congress will authorize the spending of $500 billion of your money to “rebuild Ukraine”. Write that down. It’s coming.

Not a hole deep or dark enough: Recently a video surfaced of a confused three month-old puppy after being dumped out of a car and abandoned in a mobile home park. This seems to be a thing in California lately. You know, it’s bad enough when you abandon a fully gown dog, but a puppy? Can’t even be bothered to take it to an animal shelter? These folks should have their names posted…be outed for their cruelty. Faces shown on television. Out these people. Demonstrate what kind of people they are. There isn’t a hole in hell that is deep or darkn enough for these P O S.

A sad Good-Bye: Duane Eddy, a pioneering guitar hero whose reverberating electric sound on instrumentals such as “Rebel Rouser” and “Peter Gunn” helped put the twang in early rock and roll and influenced George Harrison, Bruce Springsteen and countless other musicians, has died at age 86. I saw him in person during the 60’s when he would join in whatever band was playing at the Friday night “surf dance” behind the old International Marketplace. I still love his performance as the “karate killer” in the old biker flic “The Savage Seven”. His talent and music will be missed.

Who loves ya baby:  Announced back in 2015 Diesel is re-teaming with Universal Pictures, the studio behind Fast & Furious, to develop a movie based on Kojak. The original TV series starred Telly Savalas as Theo Kokaj and ran for three seasons after debuting in 1973. The series revolves around Kojak, a New York detective known for being willing to go beyond the law and a love for cars and lollipops, and follows him as he investigates different cases. Well, who loves ya baby? Well, certainly not hollywierd of they’d think of something new.

Something good: How about a good story to end the week? A chiropractor in Oklahoma had a special patient with a lot of neck to adjust. Not only does Dr. Joren Whitley work on humans, but he treats animals, too. That’s why he was called in to relieve a jaw problem on Gerry the giraffe, who was having an issue with chewing. Whitley, who has adjusted other animals, said working with a giraffe was a dream come true. “Being able to work on a giraffe is a chiropractor’s dream. I mean it’s the largest neck in the world,” Whitley said. Gerry’s owner said the giraffe’s chewing improved after his adjustment by Whitley. The doctor said the giraffe seemed pleased, too. “He absolutely loved it. I mean he was rubbing all over me. He was licking all over me,” Whitley said. In Oklahoma, it is legal to own a giraffe. Gerry’s owner purchased him five years ago from a Texas wildlife safari park when Gerry was 2 months old after his mother had rejected him. Good going Doc.

Thursday Motes, Travelin’ On

Comparing apples and prunes: On Drew Barrymore’s daytime talk show Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris was asked if she could become a mother to the country. “We really all need a tremendous hug in the world right now,” Barrymore said, “but in our country, we need you to be Mamala of the country.” Dippy Drew was referring to Malala Yousafzai (born July 12, 1997, Mingora, Pakistan). A Pakistani activist who, while a teenager, spoke out publicly against the prohibition on the education of girls that was  imposed by the  TTP; (sometimes called Pakistani Taliban). She gained global attention when she survived an assassination attempt at age 15. On October 9, 2012, Yousafzai was shot in the head by a TTP gunman while she was enroute home from school.  In 2014 Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in recognition of their efforts on behalf of children’s rights. And just what has Kamala done? That’s an insult to the real Malala.

Sex, drugs, and Metamucil: The Stones have been touring for more than 60 years. Frontman Mick Jagger and lead guitarist Keith Richards are both 80, with guitarist Ronnie Wood not far behind at 76. Their tour is being sponsored in part by AARP. You can’t make this stuff up.

Real heroes: Five West Virginia middle school students have been banned from future track and field competitions after refusing to compete against a transgender athlete. The incident has now drawn the attention of state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, who is seeking intervention from the US Supreme Court for the second time. During the 2024 Harrison County Middle School Championships, held on April 18th, the five students, all from Lincoln Middle School, opted not to participate in the shot-put competition in protest against competing the transgender competitor. Sometimes your convictions have consequences. Stand tall and strong all of you. I sincerely hope the USSC backs them up. The loss of that competition should be enough, banning from all future competitions is over kill.

Is there anything it can’t do: Same-sex couples are more likely to face the threat of climate change compared to straight couples. It goes on, lawmakers and disaster relief service providers should “ensure that disaster relief is accessible and administered without discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression”. Well, at least they didn’t blame Trump this time.

Wednesday Motes, Getting Along Here

Not every day: Something in the air for animals lately. First th horses at Buckingham Palace and now, Zebra’s in Seattle. Law enforcement officers and the public in Washington state came together Sunday to take a rare hazard off the roads: runaway zebras. Despite successfully corralling three of them after they busted loose near North Bend, on the eastern outskirts of Seattle, one is still on the run. He said the animals escaped while their owner stopped to secure their trailer. The privately-owned animals were being taken to Montana. Once, while driving from Hilo to Kona, at about 5:30 am I almost drove off the road because I saw a Zebra. Seems there was a small   private ranch and he was just standing around eating. You don’t see that every day.

Suck up: Remember how recently California Gruesome Newsome treated the Chinese leaders like they were royalty. He cleaned up streets, homeless, and sidewalks. He conducted talks with the representatives of a foreign country, all the while denying he was running for a higher office. Now, after saying goodbye to the last of its pandas in 2019, the San Diego Zoo is preparing for the species to return. Tit for tat?

Did you know: Just 4 days before Shillary was to be indicted in the Whitewater Scandal, all the documents were “destroyed”. In the Oklahoma City bombing. Do you know who was the DA in charge of that investigation? Yes, Merrick Garland. Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy actions.

“Tourons”*: An Idaho man has been arrested on an alcohol-related crime and other related charges after he was accused of  kicking a bison at Yellowstone (the park not the ranch).. It appears the bison didn’t take kindly to the harassment as the kicker was hurt in the bison encounter and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, where he was evaluated, treated and released before being taken to the Gallatin County Detention Center. I keep saying don’t mess with the fluffy cows. *TOUrest moRONS

Sometimes they are real: A toddler told her mom that “monsters” were in her closet.  The mother of three children under four years old was met with a “terrifying” surprise after she and her husband investigated why a handful of bees had flown into the attic of the couple’s North Carolina home. A thermal camera finally revealed where the bees had gone – to a massive hive they had built inside the wall of her daughter’s room, where the girl was convinced she had heard a monster of some kind lurking. Beekeepers ultimately removed tens of thousands of bees over several extractions, and a honeycomb weighing more than 100lb. Yeah, I’d say that qualified as a “monster”.

Does anyone remember what these are? Points and Plus gapping tool, and a drive chain master link. Old Old school.

Tuesday Motes That Roll Along

No, just a waste of time: Remember when television was called the “vast wasteland”? Well, it’s only gotten worse. I mean for crying out loud, “Life After Lockup”, “Catfish”, and now, on ”The Learning  Channel”, we have “MILF House 2”. 2 ? ? ? ? On the LEARNING channel? Hat’s wasted time, and opportunity to actually teach something. But what do I know.

Yes, there is: They keep talking about the two-tier legal system, how abut the NY DA who refused to stop for cops when she was caught speeding — and instead drove back her house and called the police chief to complain about the “a–hole” officer who pursued her home, bodycam footage shows. Talk about entitled. Who watches the watchers? Who enforces the law to the law enforcers?

It will cost more than money: An under-construction pier for a U.S.-led project to bring aid into the Gaza Strip came under fire Wednesday, forcing U.N. officials to take shelter there, Israeli and U.N. officials said. The attack marks a shaky start to the construction of the pier, a project that the U.S. is spearheading to surge humanitarian aid into Gaza. Authorities said that no one was wounded. This time. I said this would was a big waste of tax payers money, and only provide Hamas with targets. Correct.

W T F: Early Sunday morning, I read the about three men, 20-41-56 y-o, that “kidnapped” two 13 y-o girls, then  released them at their school. The men were arrested, named, and released on $2,000.00 bail. I thought the bail was ridiculously low so I had to comment here. We have people sitting in prison for 23+ months without bail or trial, for trespassing, and these guys get out of chump change. W T F ?

It could be the last: Okay, the White House Correspondents dinner is a biig thig. Okay, it used to be. Now they are all saying if Trump is elected this will be the last one. Okay, who’s going to miss it?  Certainly not me or anyone else I know. For the last 7 years, all it’s been is a “dump on Trump” gathering for people that think they are important and consider themselves “leader’s.” They aren’t important and they sure as hell aren’t “leaders”. It wouldn’t be missed.

Monday Motes, Here We Go Again

So many levels:  The video of a drag queen in Massachusetts leading a group of young kids to chant “Free Palestine” has sparked fierce backlash — with some calling it “indoctrination” that is “wrong on every level.” The encounter, which unfolded at a “Queer Storytime for Palestine” event organized by the Valley Families for Palestine group in Amherst last week, had gone viral by Thursday as outrage mounted. Furious critics were quick to point out the hypocrisy of a drag queen touting the phrase given the harsh treatment of LGBTQ people in Gaza. This whole thing is wrong on so many levels. Pre-school children with Drag Queens, gay’s rooting for those that would kill them in a minute and cheering for terrorists and murders.  These are the crazy times.

Another one I won’t see: Jennifer Aniston is continuing her successful streak as a producer with a new version of the 1980 classic “9 To 5.” Aniston, 55, will be changing things up with a ‘reimagining’ of the original film. Is there any imagination left in Hollywierd. I don’t think so. Seakin’ of no imagination, they’re also talking about a Liam Neeson-starring reboot of the Naked Gun. Good grief, Neeson is not funny, doesn’t like American culture, and thinks he should tell us all what we should do to save the planet. Well, that’s 2 more I won’t be watching.

Now that’s just wrong: “The Plug” looks like just another legal weed store: The front door is covered in big green pot leaves, a sign shows pipes filled with marijuana, and the shelves are filled with what appear to be marijuana products. But the store’s  terrible 1.2 (5) star rating on Google Maps is a giveaway that this shop near the front doors of Planet Hollywood isn’t quite what it seems. The Plug is one of a handful of hemp stores on the Vegas Strip that are apparently tricking tourists into buying cannabis products that will never get them high. That’s just deceptive sales practice, and that’s just wrong.

Just a vacation : A warehouse exploded March 4 in Clinton Township, just outstide Detroit. It was a distributor for vape pens and smoke shop items and filled with illegally stored butane and nitrous oxide canisters. Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire, which spewed debris up to a mile away and took more than 24 hours to put out. The investigation, which is being led by the ATF, is ongoing, and the local fire chief says officials “cannot exclude human involvement in this fire at this time.”  The owner of the Michigan business has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after a flying canister from the blast hit and killed a 19-year-old standing outside a quarter-mile away. He was arrested this week at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York after police in Michigan were alerted that he was attempting to leave the country on a one-way ticket to Hong Kong, officials said. Suspicious, yes.

Campus protest and occupations: Right now, there are too many to list and comment on. In D.C. the police refused to clear a pro-terrorist gathering because of the “bad optics”. It’s past time for these “children” to learn a life lesson. Those schools do NOT belong to the students, they have no right to disturb or infringe on the rights of the other students or instructors. They do NOT run the school. Collect them, get their names, revoke any and all scholarships, athletic or academic, and then send them home to mommy and daddy. Make them reapply next year. There must be consequences for their actions. Too bad the parents didn’t teach them long before it got to this.
