Another Manic Monday

About time: Some time ago I commented on the Hawaii Dept. of Safety and that their “Firearms Instructor” had no qualifications to teach officers the use of a firearm. According to her resume’, she had not attended any high level firearms training facility, or any firearms training facility at all. At that time it was reported she had resigned and had moved on to a Public Safety office in Oregon.  I commented that was typical of Hawaii. Let them go quietly and pass the problem to someone else to handle. Well; HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A state employee who oversaw the training of thousands of state law enforcement officers has been arrested for allegedly falsifying information to get promoted. J. Marte Martinez, former head of training at the state Department of Public Safety is charged with two counts of perjury, a felony crime, for her testimony before the Hawaii Labor Relations Board in December 2019.Martinez is also charged with tampering with a government record and lying to authorities. Somebody didn’t do their due diligence.

What’s wrong with this world: Read a story about the parents of a 4 y-o girl in Ukraine.  What kind of a world do we live in when parents feel the have to write their daughters name, birthday, and phone numbers to contact relatives, on the child’s bare shin, on her back? Yes, it’s a war zone, and those damn missiles and bombs are address “occupant”.

Last week a glaring hole appeared in US security with the arrest of  two men accused of impersonating federal agents over the course of several years.(And nobody bothered to check.)  According to a criminal complaint unsealed late Wednesday following the multi-agency raid on a Washington, D.C., apartment complex, the duo allegedly obtained paraphernalia, handguns and assault rifles used by federal law enforcement agencies. ( Boy, we need another law about this.) The FBI claimed they used their false associations with the U.S. government “to ingratiate themselves with members of federal law enforcement and the defense community” by providing gifts and favors to residents of an apartment building, many of whom were employees of the FBI, Secret service, and the Department of Homeland Security and Defense. (There should be rules about accepting gifts.) So far, nobody seems to “know why”. The first thing I learned as an investigator, “FOLLOW THE MONEY”. These guys had a lot of money to throw around. Find who supplied that, you’ll find out why they did it. And who they worked for. And what they wanted.

If they want, they’ll get you: Beverly Hills’ only gun shop, Beverly Hills Guns, received an order on April 7 advising the shop that it has 60 days to close. They will have to find a new location, sign a lease, and only after signing a lease, get a new license from the ATF, approval from the  California DOJ, and approval from the city of Beverly Hills. The cost in time, moving, and loss in sales will be astronomical. For all intents, the shop and business is done. Why? Because GUNS, of course.

Follow the science: 9-year-old Tanner Donaldson, will soon need a kidney transplant. He was born with a rare birth defect, posterior urethral valves (PUV), a condition that caused irreversible kidney damage in utero and resulted in stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD). Dane Donaldson, Tanner’s father, is a perfect match, but the Cleveland Clinic is refusing to do the transplant because Dane has not received the COVID-19 vaccination. The hospital requires that all living donors be fully vaccinated before they go under the knife for a transplant. Dane is in good health, an avid CrossFitter, and is ready to have the surgery the moment it’s needed. But they received a letter from the Cleveland Clinic informing them that Dane would not qualify to be the kidney donor unless he agrees to take the COVID-19 vaccination. So, he takes the jab, or his child dies. Am I the only one that sees this as wrong? WRONG!

How come we don’t have a; “Straight, married, working, paying taxes, and raise a family” day?
