Aloha Friday Motes

We are all equal or are we: Somehow, I feel the launching of a 24/7 “Black News Channel”, touted as “created by black people for black people”, is not really in the spirit of “equality”. If they don’t hire me because I’m white, is that racism? Can I sue? Asking for a friend.

Its all fun and games until someone puts out an eye: In Tampa FL, an 8-year old accidentally discharged a “Daisy” BB gun in the back of a truck. The BB struck 17-year old Ivan Johnson in the left eye, ultimately killing him. Cooper’s four-rules of firearms applies. even to air-soft, BB guns, pellet guns, even crossbows. 1) Every gun is loaded until you make it unloaded. 2)Never point a weapon at something you are not willing to destroy. 3) Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. 4) Be sure of your target and what’s beyond it. It usually takes violating 2 of these to make an accidental discharge. Which ones do you think he violated?

Headlines are meant to grab, not inform: A headline over at Google News says, “Did Rush Limbaugh Say Medal Was Tarnished By Rosa Park and Maya Angelou?” Reading that one would deduce Limbaugh was a racist of the most disgusting kind. But wait, the article was from “Snopes”, and was “not a factual recounting of real-life events. The article originated with a website that describes its output as being humorous or satirical in nature, as follows:” and then quoted the First Amendment. How long will it be before the liberal “journalists” start reporting it as fact? Not long is my guess.

It’s all in the phrasing: Biden, while losing his party nomination in New Hampshire, says they could “run Mickey Mouse and beat Trump”. Okay, but I bet Mickey never called any of the Mousketeers “a dog-faced pony soldier”. Joe, 21-year old students vote. And I bet she ain’t voting for you. Oh and Ms. Warren, it’s not nice to compare the V-P of the U.S. to a dog. It just isn’t respectful.

Asking for myself; Yesterday I thought about eating a salad. Does that make me a “vegan at heart”?

I can’t make this up: They are always finding new ways to spend your tax dollars. Some have a good purpose but it just isn’t well thought out. Example, we all know human sex trafficking is a problem. And something to be fought. The Department of Justice just gave a three-year $530,000 grant to fight trafficking to an organization called, “Hookers for Jesus”, a Nevada non-profit.
