What bait was he using: A fisherman out in Jamaica Bay Wednesday morning spotted an unlikely catch — a bag of rifles that he later reported to police, cops and sources said. The 44-year-old man discovered three rifles inside a plastic bag in the bay near Beach 38th Street and Norton Drive in Queens around 10:15 a.m., the NYPD said. He then walked into a nearby police station to alert authorities. When divers from the NYPD’s emergency service unit went into the water, they found the rifles and another 14 handguns in shallow waters, police and sources said. Where is that fishing spot?
Once they roamed the plains unfettered: Rapper Rick Ross is waving off worries voiced by his neighbors after some of his buffaloes wandered off his property in Fayetteville, Georgia, and telling folks to give them an apple or a carrot if the animals are nearby. Ross bought the 300-acre Fayetteville property for $5.879 million from former boxer Evander Holyfield. Roaming the property is a small herd of buffaloes, but according to Ross, the giant animals escaped his land when he was renovating the area in which they are usually penned. Ross seemed unworried by the whole situation. Just wait until someone gets up close and personal with one of the bison and ends up badly injured. Wait, are those lawyers I hear stampeding across the plains?
Throw away the key: A Houston, Texas, judge cut the bail in half of the teenager arrested for allegedly paralyzing a Vietnamese woman during a robbery attack after his defense attorney argued that his family couldn’t afford the amount. The 17 year-old suspect was arrested after surveillance video captured him allegedly body-slamming the victim and fracturing her spine. Investigators say that Harrell followed Nhung Truong for 24 miles and then assaulted and robbed her of steal $4,300 in cash she had withdrawn from the bank so that she could visit her family in Vietnam. Bail is; the promise to appear in court when required. In some countries, especially the United States, bail usually implies a bail bond, a deposit of money or some form of property to the court by the suspect in return for the release from pre-trial detention. It does not say anything about being able to “afford” it. This P O S followed the victim for 24 miles. That shows intent and her injuries show he has no regard for anyone else. If the bail is too low, he won’t show up for court until he’s arrested again. Odds are, he won’t show up anyway. Oh, and the suspect was already out on bond for a weapons charge when the incident took place and is being charged with another robbery that took place less than two weeks later. He has been recorded absolutely unrepentant, calling the victim several obscene names, and laughing that he won’t do max time.
And white Americans to boot: Joe and Jill Biden on Thursday traveled to Ottawa, Canada to participate in a greet with Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada and her husband, Whit Fraser. During the opening conversation Uncle Joe says , “On the West Coast — a great deal of rain and a lot of forest fires — we’ve had a tough year due to global warming”. To which DR Jill added “Well, it’s been really warm because of global warming in the United States.” I guess none of his vacations have been near Mammoth Lakes, California which is completely buried in snow.
