Wandering Wednesday Motes

Why I don’t listen the ‘em: Caught a recent “Thing You Need To Know” pod cast. Ostensibly it was about the French Foreign Legion. It wasn’t, really. There are many things about the Legion, Camaron’, Mexico, the catastrophic Battle of Dien Bien Phu, Algeria, or the Congo. No, these two yoyo’s wanted to talk about a crappy Jean-Claude Van Damme movie from the 90’s. I’ve known a Legionnaire, tough, smart, and very quiet. I’ve met Van Damme, loud, soft, and full of himself. That’s why I don’t listen to pod casts. .

Trump “charges”: Rep. Maxine Waters (Socialist-CA) has likely suffered the biggest meltdown so far. She went on MSNBC Saturday to give her “analysis” regarding Trump’s possible arrest. “It’s almost like he’s attempting to organize his domestic terrorists to show up and to resist him being arrested,” says Waters.  Just like when Trump said to “stay on the street” and “get more confrontational”. Oh no, that was Waters. Or when he said “We have to let people know that we’re not going to be satisfied unless we get justice in these cases. And so I just could not sleep, I could not rest, I could not be satisfied.” Ooops, that was Waters too. Hey, how about when he demanded, “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.” Nope, that was Maxine also.  Seems to me, the person inciting violence is Waters. Can we all say HYPOCRITE?

Speaking of: About 500 people attended Kirk Caneron’s book-reading event for children in Fayetteville, AL.. While most in attendance were parents, grandparents, and children, there were also drag queens protesting a children’s book that fosters Christian and conservative values. Brave Books said in December that more than 50 libraries rejected proposals for Cameron to do book readings despite the same libraries sponsoring drag queen story hours. There were also protesters, including “pastor” (my quotes) Clint Schneckloth of the progressive Good Shepherd Lutheran Church that practices “full inclusion of the LGBTQ community in the life of the church” and defends specific communities, such as “black lives matter, the transgender network, Latinx, refugees, immigrants.” He claimed that the book reading was “indoctrination” and “propaganda. “They had the group sing the national anthem and say the pledge and the loudest applause throughout the event was for nationalist/patriotic stuff even more than the Christian crap,” Schneckloth wrote. And he has the nerve to call himself “pastor”? “Christian crap”? These people do not believe we are equal, they believe they are superior and should be in control.

Just sayin’: No one had an issue with drag shows, until you involved kids. No one had an issue with sex changes, until you involved kids. It’s not about LBGTQ “rights”. It’s about children’s rights.
