Down Hill Side of the Week Motes

The proper response: Israel’s Security Cabinet announced over the weekend it will move to expedite the process for firearms licensing in the aftermath of a Friday mass shooting that left seven people dead. A Facebook page for the Prime Minister of Israel announced that “thousands of additional citizens” will be able to carry weapons once the new policies are implemented. When civilians have guns, they can defend themselves,” National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said over the weekend. Amen!

You can’t pass a law against evil. Or a thousand laws.

Even a blind bear: I don’t like or agree with Piers Morgan. But regarding the Memphis killing, he says; ”How can anyone possibly attribute five black men killing a black man to racism and white people? It’s completely insane… In Memphis, where Tyre Nichols was killed, nearly 60% of the entire police force is black, and so is 65% of the population. The issue that provoked this killing wasn’t to do with anyone’s skin color, it was to do with  poorly trained police officers abusing their positions.” Even a blind bear’s butt gets the sunshine once in a while. And Storyteller will agree with Piers Morgan.

A special hole in hell: A loose husky was tasered to death by police officers after it chased a family, including young children, into their home and attempted to attack their pet. The dog broke free twice when officers attempted to snared the animal as it approached a group of people in front of their home. Lodi Police used a stun gun on the dog in order for it to be be captured safely but the dog died during the incident – the cause of death was not specified. The husky can be seen thrashing about on the ground as the electrical charges surge through its body, causing it to become rigid and collapse to the ground. The dog is then dragged away along the ground by Animal Services officers as locals watched on aghast. A to year old Husky is just a big play toy. I have never seen an “aggressive” huskey, he just wanted to play.

A sad Good-Bye: Actor Cindy Williams, best known for her role in the “Laverne & Shirley” TV sitcom, has died at 75, her family said Monday. Williams died peacefully Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles after a short illness, her children said in a statement released by family spokesperson Liza Cranis. Williams was often described as kind, hilarious, and generous. The Table of Heroes will richer tonight.
