Because they know what’s best: Chicago-dweller Adam Kotsko, a faculty member at the Shimer Great Books School of North Central College, has publicly opined that individuals should not reside in rural settings. According to Kotsko, “one often hears, ‘What about people in remote rural areas?’ And my gut instinct is — people shouldn’t be living there in the first place. The solution is to give them generous grants to relocate among other humans.” Sorry, are you sure the “humans” live in the city? He then says, “‘But what if they like living in remote rural areas?’ Sorry, you can’t always get what you want.” He also wrote “‘Isn’t it mean to imply that rural people’s lifestyle is bad and wrong?’ As someone who lives in Chicago, all I can say to that is: cry me a river.” I got a great idea, what don’t you and all like minded stay in Chicago, kill each other off, and leave me and mine the hell alone. I trust the animals more than I do the “humans”.
Check your source: Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation Of Teachers (AFT), tweeted out a list of “banned” books in Florida on Sunday, according to a now deleted tweet. Weingarten tweeted out a list of “Florida’s Anti-Woke banned book list” on Sunday with the caption, “books we have taught for generations!!!!,” according to a screenshot of the now deleted tweet. Only problem, the list was fake. Ooops. Check twice, print once.
Can anyone explain what an “Evangkical(sp) Christian Furrie” is ? Anyone? Please?
Boy ain’t right: Actor Gary Busey has been accused of groping two attendees at a horror film convention in New Jersey earlier this month and hit with sex crimes charges. Police have been tight-lipped about the specifics, saying only that “multiple complaints” had been made against him in connection with his stay at a Doubletree Hotel on Aug. 12-14 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he was a featured guest at the Monster-Mania Convention. Come on folks, ol’ Gary ain’t been since he kissed that curb at high speed in ’88. OD’ing on coke in ’95 didn’t help none either.
Update: Some time ago I wrote an item about no medication coverage for Medicare/Medicaid participants. Well, last month, California became the first state to guarantee free health care to all low-income adult illegal aliens, reportedly conferring coverage to an additional 764,000 people and costing the state $2.7 billion. Approximately40,000 illegal aliens have or will age out of their present Medicaid coverage, meaning they could lose their benefits until 2024, when the new law concerning adult coverage goes into effect. They will, however, see no disruption in their benefits. I worked 50+ years, I have to find my own coverage and additional coverage for medications. Thanks Gav.
Gotta have a plan: After losing in the primary, if Hawaii State Rep. Patrick “Branco’s future is uncertain”, what he needs is a game plan. I have one for him. Get up, get out of Grandma’s house, get a job, and find your own place to live. Work 40 or 50 hours a week and learn what the price of a loaf of bread has become. Do this for 10 or 15 years, pay your bills, make your own meals. At the end of that time, you’ll learn why “political office” is “public service”, and not a lifelong profession. Then you’ll really know what your “constituents”, (you remember them, the voters), are going through and what you can do to help. Then you really can “be of service to the people of Hawaii”.
