Motes, Monday, and Who’s On First.

Headline: Majority of Americans want masks for travelers, poll finds”. The article states that a majority of people in the United States continue to support a mask requirement for people traveling on airplanes and other shared transportation, a poll finds. It goes on with this percentage dems and this percent repubs etc. The main issue I have is what this poll is based on. The results are based on interviews with 1,085 U.S. adults conducted April 14–18. The margin of error is ±3.9 percentage points for the full sample. So, their headline is based on .00000328 % of America. Oh yeah, that’s a real cross section of the population. Oh, and this poll was conducted before the mandate was lifted. So, while not exactly false, it certainly is misleading.

I used to laugh at my folks going to bed at ten pm. Now I wonder how they made it that late.

Hard to believe: The US Secret Service has dubiously claimed to The NY Post that it has “no records” of visitors to President Biden’s two Delaware residences and therefore cannot divulge that information in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. Biden has spent close a quarter of his time between the two residences. Biden was at one of his Delaware homes for 99 days during his first year in office, including for official business. Tom Fitton, president of the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, which also has sued for presidential visitor logs, accused the Secret Service of playing a “shell game” — potentially claiming that the Delaware logs belong to the White House rather than the protective agency. Somebody has got to throw the yellow bullshat flag on this one.

Hey Piers Morgan, LSOS*: When you call President Trump “a supreme narcissist”, “too dangerous”, “morphed into a monster”, and accuse them of “acting like a Mafia mob boss”; then you demand he be removed  “through new emergency articles of impeachment”, you really shouldn’t expect a civil “interview”. And when you do, you edit the recording and turn it into a hatchet job. Just where do you get the idea you can demand the U.S. do anything? Last I looked you are a freakin’ Brit. And you got no dog in that fight. When you say there is no “proof of fraud”, you forget the 4,000+ sworn affidavits describing fraud and misdeeds during the election. These were all sworn to under the penalty of perjury. And NOT ONE person has been charged. Let me repeat that, NOT ONE. You should stick to blowing smoke up Meg and Harry. Oh, and you really should delete that part of your bio where you call yourself a journalist. You’re Not.*(Lying Sack Of Shat)

Delusional: Alec Baldwin said he was “grateful” for New Mexico’s investigation into the fatal on-set shooting during the production of his ill-fated film “Rust” last fall, claiming that the state’s report “exonerates” him. The report gave a scathing narrative of safety failures in violation of standard industry protocols, including testimony that production managers took limited or no action to address two misfires on the set before the fatal shooting. New Mexico’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau announced that the film’s production company Rust Movie Productions LLC would be fined the maximum $139,793 for safety failures while shooting. Just how that exonerates Baldwin I don’t know. He held the gun, he pointed the gun, the gun went BANG while he was holding and pointing it, and a woman died. Nope, still don’t see the exoneration.

Play list this weekend; John Prine, Allison Krauss, Don Williams, Zac Brown Band, Nancy Griffith, and even a little Lyle Lovett.

Tramp, I miss you every day.
