Movie review: You’ve probably never heard of the “Shadow Wolves”. They are a Native American hunter/tracker group, under the ICE/BP badge, that work on Indian lands. They have been sent overseas to teach tracking and interdiction methods to U.S. soldiers and allies. In 2019 there was a “Shadow Wolves” movie released with Graham Greene and Thomas Gibson. IMDB gave it 3 ½ /10. I wouldn’t have given it that good. In a few words, it’s awful. Don’t bother.
How quickly they forget: Remember Darrell Brooks, Jr.? On November 21, 2021, he plowed his car through the Waukesha Christmas Parade in Wisconsin, murdering six people and injuring 61. Remember Noah Green? On April 2, 2021, he rammed his car into a barricade at the U.S. Capitol, murdering one person and injuring another. You don’t hear very much about them nowadays, and now Frank James has quickly faded from the front page. Brooks, Green, and James shared the same ideology: they were all black nationalists who hated white people and believed that they could never get a fair shake in an America dogged by systemic racism and white supremacy. And James Hodgkinson shot up a Republican senate softball practice. Tho’ Hodgkinson is white, he was a left-wing Bernie supporter and so didn’t fit the narrative. So they dropped him from the news. I’ll bet 99% of people don’t even remember any of these murderers. They just don’t fit what “they” want you to believe.
Economics: Uncle Joe released his annual Economic Report on Thursday where he mentioned the word “gender” significantly more than “inflation” as the country faces the highest prices in over 40 years. Meanwhile, the report mentioned “inequality” 147 times and “emissions” nearly 100 times. We’re at the highest inflation in 45 years, people are worried about feeding their families, and some people can’t afford to fill their gas tanks. He’s worried about gender, inequality, and emissions. Granted, it’s been a good many years since I took an Economics class, but I don’t remember any of those 3 words ever being used. And I received a B.
Hooray for karma: In Philadelphia an armed would-be home intruder was fatally shot late Sunday in Philadelphia by the homeowner after he allegedly tried impersonating a police officer and breaking into the home. a 25-year-old man was approached by two individuals, one of which was wearing a police badge around his neck. The victim reportedly believed the individuals were police officers. Once inside, the suspect allegedly tried to zip tie the victim and threatened to kill him before demanding money. (Bigggg clue.) Upon realizing the two suspects were not in fact police officers, the victim managed to pull out his legally owned firearm and shot one of the suspects, according to the report. The suspect later died at the hospital while the other suspect fled the scene. Thank the gods the victim had one of those “legally owned” firearms. I understand they are not that easy to get in the “City of Brotherly Love”.
Last (?) word: You can’t take the Oscar away from Will Smith. He legitimately earned it. No matter what he did at the show, how badly he screwed up, or what anybody thinks, he earned it. And if he continues to act, a big if in this day, and he does it spectacularly well, he should win another one. He just shouldn’t be allowed to publicly receive it at the awards show. The award is for how well someone “acts”, not how they act.
So many village idiots, so few dragons.
