Sad Good Bye: For many years my Pop loved reading Jack Higgins. Henry Patterson, known also by his pen name Jack Higgins, was a British author. He was a best-selling author of popular thrillers and espionage novels. His novel “The Eagle Has Landed” sold more than 50 million copies and was adapted into a successful 1976 movie of the same title. Pop and I shared a love of a good spy story, and Africa, of which Higgins wrote plenty. A new Bard now plays for the Table of Hero’s. His words and talent will be missed.
It don’t add up: Sitting with a liberal acquaintance of mine who was proudly speaking about his new “Solar Power System”. He’d signed a 15-year loan and was so proud that his electric bill was now $28.00 dollars a month. Wow. So, I asked what his monthly loan payment was, $260.00 dollars a month. I then asked what his electrical bill before the installation. He responded it had been between $200.00 to $260.00 a month so he was saving a lot of money. Huh? I’m not sure how his math works out, I just don’t see it.
They won’t: Monday I wrote about the two “DHS” impersonators that had wormed their way into special circles by masquerading as federal law enforcement and providing expensive gifts to Secret Service agents. The two were to be freed Wednesday pending trial after the Justice Department decided not to appeal a judge’s order in the case. The saga of Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali broke into public view with their rushed arrest last week on a single charge of impersonating law enforcement. Prosecutors suggested the men posed a national security threat and may have compromised at least four Secret Service agents and officers. Lawyer Greg Smith, who represents Ali, said the facts didn’t match the rhetoric in the case and pointed out that his client had been deemed “indigent” and unable to pay for private legal counsel, hardly the sign of a foreign intelligence operative. Okay, these guys gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts, but are “indigent”? Anybody really believe they’ll stick around for court? Me either.
Get what you earned: A man died after being hit by a car while he was trying to steal its catalytic converter early Monday. Police said the man was tampering with the car that hit him, and they believe he was trying to steal the car’s catalytic converter before he was struck. Instant karma.
The Tenth Amendment: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Stop and think how much this is being violated by the present regime administration.
Gas in Honolulu 4/10/22. What are you paying?

Play list for last weekend; Ed Bruce, The Gatlin Brothers, Hi-Way 101, and Mike Post’s tv theme music. Listening to “Magnum P.I.”, “Believe it or Not” (The Greatest American Hero), “The Rockford Files” and “Hill Street Blues” put me into the 80’s memories and some of the stupid crap I pulled. I’m lucky I survived to meet her. Lucky, and very thankful.
