How bad is Calipornia: The state has had to rescue its struggling marijuana industry. Gavin Newsom that has been supported by legislative leaders. The California Legislature on Monday approved a $100-million plan to bolster California’s legal marijuana industry, which continues to struggle to compete with the large illicit pot market nearly five years after voters approved sales for recreational use. No comments on how the “illegal” dealers are doing. I’m betting they’re doing just fine.
Just asking: How come we haven’t seen any big msm stories on the people “rescued” from Afghanistan rejoining with their families? Seems a little odd there hasn’t been any joyful reunions, welcome home parties, or images of small children gleefully running toward the rescued parent. Not one. Just sayin’.
WTF is wrong with people: An elderly man who died as a result of COVID-19 was recently dissected in front of a live paying audience in Oregon without his family’s consent. The macabre public autopsy of 98-year-old David Saunders’ body took place on Oct. 17 in a Marriott ballroom in Portland as a part of the traveling “Oddities and Curiosities Expo,”. The expo often features dark art and sideshow performances and markets itself as a leading community “for lovers of the strange, unusual, and bizarre.” Okay, I understand the “strange, unusual, and bizarre” stuff. But paying to watch a dissection? That’s maybe a little over the top.
It does happen: When the story of the movie set shooting first broke, I found it odd that it happened just before a union group was due to strike. I even suggested the two things could be related. Later we found that the “union” group had “walked off” the set earlier that day. Now an attorney, Jason Bowles, an attorney for “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, Wednesday that he believes someone might have been trying to sabotage the set by putting a live round in a box of dummy ammunition. Bowles said a working theory is that somebody who would “want to sabotage the set, want to prove a point, want to say they’re disgruntled, they’re unhappy” may have put a live round or live rounds in the box of blanks. Since then we have learned of numerous safety problems, the use of the weapons off-set for target practice, and at least 2 other negligent discharges. These would, to me, indicate the whole thing was the result of not following the simplest rules. But then, conspiracy’s do happen.
Makes me giggle: I love all the stars, used-to-be stars, and want-a-be stars coming out and complaining about Virginia’s recent elections. Why am I amused? Because not one of them lives in Virginia, but Virginia better damn sure vote the way Hollywierd tells them. Yes, I find that funny.
From the big meeting: The current rate of greenhouse gas pollution is so high that Earth has about 11 years to rein in emissions if countries want to avoid the worst damage from climate change in the future, a new study concludes. At last count, climate disaster predictions were 0 for 41. Beware of a poet that reads his own work in public. He probably has other bad habits
