Shades of Tricky Dick: “The V-P and her team tend to dismiss reporters. Trying to get her to take a few questions after events is treated as an act of impish aggression,” writes Edward-Isaac Dovere. “And Harris herself tracks political players and reporters whom she thinks don’t fully understand her or appreciate her life experience.” Harris keeps a list of reporters and other political types who might be racist. (So, if you don’t agree with her, you’re racist?) According to Dovere’s reporting, Harris judiciously monitors the words journalists use to describe her. In many ways, Harris is merely a non-white version of Hillary Clinton. Both women are possessed by ruthless ambition, yet lack the necessary skills to succeed in politics at the national level. They are most comfortable when regurgitating talking points and platitudes. Objectively speaking, they share a knack for unsettling laughter and launched their political careers by dating powerful men. I believe that description is harsh, but accurate.
A must read: Just finished “Voices From Chernobyl”, the 2015 Nobel Prize Winner by Svetlana Alexievich. It is the “oral history of a nuclear disaster”. It is the real story of the 1986 nuclear plant melt down. It is a compilation of the actual words of the “survivors”, if you can call their lives now survival. It is heart wrenching and will touch your soul. I wept after reading several of the stories. I could not sit and read for more than half an hour at a time. It is just that intense. And the worse thought that could possibly be occurred to me; it will happen again.
Can’t do that: Reporters out of Chicago are alleging that Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot is now granting interviews only to journalists of color. Chicago political reporter Mary Ann Ahern took to Twitter on Tuesday to mark the “midway point” of Lightfoot’s first term in office and apparently acknowledged her failed effort to land an interview. “As (the mayor)reaches her two year midway point as mayor, her spokeswoman says Lightfoot is granting 1 on 1 interviews – only to Black or Brown journalists,” Ahern tweeted. But she’s not a racist because she’s only excluding white reporters.
Not the same: Liberals screamed when President Trump suggested that Justice Ginsberg was old enough to “retire” from the court. My God, they said. He’s trying to pack the courts, they said. That’s tampering with our constitution, they lamented. He’s destroying the judicial system they cried. Those same liberals are now urging Justice Stephen Breyer to “step-down” and let Biden nominate his replacement. The justice is 82 and has been on the court for nearly 27 years. Let’s not forget Uncle Joe has announced he has set up a panel to “look into” the court and possibly “expanding” it. But it’s not the hypocrisy when they do it.
Holy crap on buttered toast: Uncle Joe delivered a commencement address at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut on Wednesday. Joe Biden cited Mao Tse Tung to inspire the young graduates. ” ‘Women hold up half the world.’ It’s an absolutely stupid position not to make sure they represent at least half of what we do,” said Biden. The CG Class of 2021 is over one-third female. I’m not sure why he’s quoting the communist dictator because I’m sure he could have found any number of dumbazz american sayings. Or just make them up like he usually does.
There seemed to be dozens of people in every Trump meeting and listening in on his phone conversation. And most of them couldn’t wait to call their favorite reporter and tell them what was said, or actually what they heard. I haven’t heard a single “leak” out of Uncle Joe or Kammy’s WH. Or did President Trump simply have too many disloyal staff members? Maybe it’s just me.
