Sunday Rant – I Am Shamed

The Rolling Thunder Washington, DC First Amendment Demonstration Run is an annual protest and gathering that first started in 1988. For the recent high school graduates, that’s 33 years. It was started by the Viet Nam Vets M/C. Motorcycle riders from around the nation, and even around the world rally in the Pentagon parking lots and then begin riding a designated route through the Mall area of Washington, D.C. Afterward, it is an opportunity to meet old and new friends, pay respect at the memorials and participate in the Memorial Day events. The event is an actual demonstration/protest to bring awareness and accountability for POWs and MIAs left behind. The ride, now called Rolling to Remember, will be Memorial Day weekend and “continue the tradition” of Rolling Thunder. The Pentagon has released a statement on Friday burying the bad news on the weekend. In the nation’s constitutional capital, which Biden wants to turn into its own state on a par with Texas despite the fact it has fewer people than Austin, the Pentagon has denied AMVETS a parking permit for their Memorial Day ride through the city they put their lives on the line to defend. American traditions don’t matter to Biden’s administration or its woke generals. COVID is the catch-all they’ve used to keep church congregations separate, release thousands of criminals from prison, threaten to cancel America’s birthday, and now deny veterans who want to honor our war dead something as simple as a parking permit. The statement says; ”If COVID-19 conditions permit, the department would gladly consider supporting a future event request from AMVETS, potentially as soon as this Labor Day weekend.” I say this is an out and out LIE and Biden, and his “party” have no intention of ever allowing it again. And “Labor Day” is NOT the day we remember the fallen. The permit denial is actually a revocation, and it comes as much of the rest of the capital is reopening. It is a blatant show of power. Veterans are obviously being singled out for denial of service here. I am shamed. I am shamed.,
