Mid-Motes For Mid-Week

Further destroying America: A provision of President Joe Biden’s proposed $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan, the American Jobs Plan, would erode “right-to-work” laws in states that do not force workers to join a union, and would include a controversial “card check” system. “Card check” does away with the secret ballot, and it could allow union organizers to intimidate workers — which is why even former Democratic Party presidential nominee George McGovern oppose the idea in 2008. Democrats claimed they were helping workers’ rights, calling “card check” the “Employee Free Choice Act.” This will continue to keep the unions in power, with your money.

It’s not journalism anymore: In accepting the Edward R. Murrow Award for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism on Tuesday, NBC News anchor Lester Holt gave a monologue on why “fairness” in journalism is “overrated.” Holt is squarely admitting what those on the right have recognized for quite some time. It’s not journalism. It’s propaganda.

Ashli Babbitt was murdered. Her killer still walks free.

Don’t let Uncle Joe read the news: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a law allowing him to potentially hold onto power until 2036, a move that formalizes constitutional changes endorsed in a vote last year. Nobody tell Kamala either.

Has America been overloaded with “mass shooting” : After Atlanta (3/16), Boulder (3/23), and Houston (3/20), it seems like shootings just aren’t getting the media time they were. Could be everyone is just fed up? Or was the gun ban feedback so hostile they’ve decided to drop it for a while? They Dropped the Ashli Babbitt murder fast enough. Oh wait, they never followed it.

New words I like: Seems like everyone is coming up with new terms, names, and words. Like, “cisgender, heteronormativity inflicting violence our communities” or “my name is Blackwater Person”. But the best I’ve heard lately is “Herbacious inhalations”. Yeah, that one I could get behind.
