Don’t hold your breath: A secretive intelligence unit within the Honolulu Police Department known for its long history of scandal and corruption is undergoing a new transition. Chief Susan Ballard recently reassigned oversight of the Intelligence Enforcement Unit to HPD’s Investigative Bureau, meaning it will no longer be under the direct supervision of Deputy Police Chief John McCarthy . McCarthy, on the other hand, has been forced to answer questions from the Honolulu Police Commission earlier this month when he said, “We did nothing wrong.” McCarthy told the commissioners. “I stand by the actions that we did.” He acknowledged that the department destroyed all the police reports related to the investigation, which he said involved a vague allegation of drug activity that came to him via the mayor’s office. Who thinks there will ever be any charges against McCarthy? I don’t think so either, this guy knows where a lot of the “bodies are buried” in HPD. They’ll never touch him. Watch for his “retirement” party soon.

It means nothing anymore: Stacy Abrams has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Abrams and her organization Fair Fight Action were integral in increasing Black voter turnout in Georgia this election cycle. Lars Haltbrekken, a Socialist Party politician in Norway, said Monday, the first day of Black History Month in the U.S. and the last day for someone to be nominated for the prize, that “Abrams’ work follows in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s footsteps in the fight for equality before the law and for civil rights.” BLM has also been nominated for the “Nobel” as well. Also by some left-wing socialist from another country. The “Peace Prize” means absolutely nothing. It’s become simply a leftist propaganda billboard.
Interesting: In order to reduce some of the District Court backlog, the Prosecutors Office has said they will work with defendants and “MADD” for sentencing guidelines. My question, why is a “non-legal” organization, MADD, involved with the court? To my knowledge, MADD has no legal standing within the court system.
