Motes For Your Tuesday

The New York Times has done it again: On the heels of its infamous 1619 Project, a “culture reporter” at the so-called newspaper of record writes that Alexander Hamilton “bought, sold and personally owned slaves” and was an “enslaver.” Hey guys, IT WAS 300 YEARS AGO.

Unintended consequences: The Honolulu Police department assigned officers to “enforce” the Covid edicts from the governor and mayor. (Yes, I use lower case on purpose.) The “special” unit has been stopped when overtime fraud was discovered. This is my shocked face. According to reports, 2 officers managed to put in 300 hours of overtime in a 5-week period. According to my math, that means they put in 14/7. Not likely.

I don’t understand: American Holocaust Museum has opened an exhibition about the death of George Floyd. The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center in Florida, which educates about the extermination of six million Jews, is hosting an exhibit about the murder in Minneapolis.  This is for a person that could be best described as a career petty criminal.   He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest. He went to jail for at least 5 times for drug abuse, theft, criminal trespassing, aggravated robbery as well as entering a pregnant woman’s home and pointing a gun at her stomach while looking for drugs. Floyd was not a “jew”, and I cannot think of any reason for an exhibit, especially at that locatioj.

Make’em play by their own rules: New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) was confronted about his Covid lockdown orders and mask mandate while he was out dining with his family. A group of fed up people confronted a maskless Murphy dining with his family at a restaurant in Asbury Park over the weekend. Murphy just extended New Jersey’s Covid lockdown order for the NINTH time since March. Remember the Left telling everyone to confront, insult, and “tell them how you feel”? Hey Maxine, I suggest you eat at home.
