They are listening: Donald Trump “has no principles” and people “can’t trust him” according to his eldest sister, the first rebuke of the president from any of his siblings to be made public since he took office. In secretly recorded audio published by the Washington Post on Saturday, Maryanne Trump Barry, a retired federal judge, talks candidly to the president’s niece, Mary Trump, about her relationship with her brother, apparently unaware that she is being recorded. Does anyone remember what brought Richard Nixon down? Yep, secret recordings. I guess you should always think someone is listening when you start talking, about anything, to anyone, anywhere.
All lives don’t matter: “RIOTS have broken out in Wisconsin after an unarmed black dad (and wanted sex offender) was shot in the back seven times by a white police officer in front of his children.” The shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake in Kenosha has sparked days of rioting across the state as Governor Tony Evers condemned the “excessive use of force”. The riots started that night. Cannon Hinnant is already buried and where’s the outrage? Where? Oh, that’s right, Cannon was a white 5 year-old and his life doesn’t matter.(italics are mine)
Shocked I tell you, shocked: WarnerMedia has launched an investigation into director Joss Whedon after actor Ray Fisher publicly accused him of being abusive on the set of “Justice League.” According to Ray Fisher, who played the role of Cyborg, Whedon’s behavior on set was “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.” He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Seeing Whedon’s rants and vulgar anti-Trump rants, the hypocrisy does not really shock me. Not even a little.
Just listening: There were no late-night host “jokes” during or after the Demo snooze-fest convention. How about the Republican convention? Can anyone say, “all show, every show”?
When I was a kid: My parents used to make fun of my ears and tell me how they stuck out. For close to two years, every night before I went to sleep, I would scotch tape my ears tightly to the side of my head. Training my ears to lay flat. Yes, it hurt every morning taking peeling the tape off. I had no hair beside my ears. It was a good thing that teenage boys hair style was all short back then. Now, I walk around with the damn face mask and its elastic straps and I feel like I’m undoing 2 years of training my ears.
Portland, Seattle, and Kenosha are only the beginning of what is to come. It’s going to get much worse, and people like me who are anti-civil war and want nothing but peace with my countrymen, are about to become severely disappointed. To those who want to tear everything down, be aware of what you start. You may not be prepared to pat what it will cost YOU.
Not sure what is happening this weekend, by I fear there will be some more “Writers Tears” involved. Stay safe.
